Totally Killer's Credits Sequence: A Guide to Every Time Travel Change (9)

5

Totally Killer has plenty of plot twists along the way — but it is worth sticking around until the end to catch them all.

The Prime Video series, which was released on Friday, October 6, follows Jamie (Kiernan Shipka) as she travels back in time (by accident) to stop the Sweet Sixteen Killer. During her time in the ’80s, she teams up with her mom, Pam, (Olivia Holt) to track down the identity of the murderer before it is too late.

Jamie has several suspects on her list, but the killer turns out to be Doug (Nathaniel Appiah) — a quiet kid who is bullied by his classmates. Doug dated fellow student Trish before Pam’s friends accidentally caused her death. He decides to seek revenge by going after the group which includes Tiffany (Liana Liberato), Marisa (Stephi Chin-Salvo) and Heather (Anna Diaz).

After unmasking the past Sweet Sixteen Killer, Jamie realizes the murderer in her own timeline is a second person. Turns out present-day Chris (Jonathan Potts) decided to start killing — with Pam (Julie Bowen) as the first victim — to get more people to listen to his podcast about the Sweet Sixteen Killer since interest started to drop after three decades. Chris also travels back in time later in the film and has a face-off with Jamie, which ends with his death.

Since Jamie interfered with the events in the past, the timeline she returns to is different than when she left. The final scene features Amelia’s (Kelcey Mawema) mom Lauren (Kimberly Huie) — who helped Jamie in the ’80s — sharing a notebook where she wrote down every change that took place to catch Jamie up.

How Has Jamie's Family Changed?

After traveling to the past, Jamie accidentally tells Pam that she ends up with Blake (Charlie Gillespie) aka Jamie’s dad. Her remaining time in the '80s is spent trying to keep her parents apart so they don’t get together too soon. Jamie isn't successful and Pam gets pregnant quicker than expected. As a result, the name Jamie is bestowed upon the couple's first son and the Jamie we all came to know is now named Collette.

The new Jamie is 34 years old and has a husband, Jason, and their 3-year-old daughter, Veronica.

Did Amelia Survive the Attack?

In the original timeline, Chris knocks Amelia out right after she figures out how to rebuild the time machine. Their fate changes though when Chris' life takes a turn after his father is killed in the '80s, which makes him less inclined to become a murder.

Amelia remains Jamie's best friend and her mother becomes a bioengineer.

How Did the Other Characters Pop Up in the Present Timeline?

In the '90s, Randy (Jeremy Monn-Djasgnar) was just the teenage boy who threw Jamie on the ground and burped in her face at a party. He ultimately grows up to become the principal of Vernon High School.

Kara (Ella Choi), meanwhile, takes over the role of chief of police in both timelines after going to the same school as Pam. According to Lauren's notebook, Kara is thrilled when marijuana gets legalized and her brownies are ranked as Snoop Dogg on "a scale of 1 to high."

Before Jamie traveled back in time, Lurch (Brendan O'Brien) was the groundskeeper at the broken down amusement park. The audience later learns he was Trish's brother a.k.a the girl whose death inspired the killings. Due to the time travel changes, Lurch creates a video game empire called Pink Mist Games and starts an anti-bullying organization in honor of his sister.

What Other Fun Changes Took Place?

Jamie was a fan of Eddie Royal (Tate Chernen) when he was a rockstar musician. However, his proximity to Tiffany's death gives him a new lease on life. He is now the frontman for a band called A Waterbed Away, which Eddie says is inspired by "how close" he came to death.

Is the Killer Gone From the Updated Universe?

In Lauren's notes, she says Chris was seemingly "traumatized" by watching his father get killed on live TV in the '80s. He subsequently moves to a monastery in India as an adult but Lauren still keeps tabs on him just in case.
