Firefighters rush to set fire to house in Fife as smoke rises from roof

Emergency services rushed to the scene of a fire in Fife this morning.

Police were called to report a fire on St Clair Street in Kirkcaldy around 8 a.m. on Tuesday July 6.

Images from the scene posted online by Fife Jammers show smoke billowing from the roof of a property, with officers and firefighters standing.

Three devices were destroyed by the fire, which took place on the top floor of a three-story building.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident as the fire was extinguished.

A Scottish Police spokesperson confirmed: “Police were called at around 8am following news of a fire at a St Clair Street address, Kirkcaldy.”

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘We were alerted at 7:53 am on Tuesday 6th July of the report of smoke coming from a property in St Clair Street, Kirkcaldy.

“Operations control mobilized three devices and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting an apartment on the top floor of a three-story building.

“No casualties have been reported and the crews are currently staying.”
