The Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service tackled a serious house fire in Crewe – located near several schools and a college.

The incident on Woodside Avenue, Wistaston, near the junction with Dane Bank Avenue – happened at 5.01pm yesterday (November 3).

A fire engine from Crewe and one from Middlewich arrived at the scene – tackling the house fire.

Firefighters spent approximately 50 minutes battling the blaze in the property’s kitchen.

They put it out with a hose reel. A large fan was used to clear smoke from Crewe’s property.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A fire involving the kitchen at a property in Wistaston was extinguished with a hose reel by firefighters.

“They used a large fan to blow the smoke out of the property and stayed there for about 50 minutes.”
