Moragne Alexander (MA) Whitney III passed away on November 14, 2021.
He was born on November 1, 1962 in Coral Gables, Florida. MA and her family moved to Lake Burton Georgia in 1973. MA attended the University of Georgia.
MA is predeceased by his mother Cynthia Smith Whitney.
MA is survived by her father Moragne (Ranny) Whitney Jr of Sautee-Nacooche, GA, sister DuGué Whitney Zion of Camden, SC and brother Geer Arthur Whitney of Selma, AL.
MA spent many years managing the family marina on Lake Burton, Cherokee Landing, where he grew up. He started selling boats at Cherokee Landing and then continued this work for JOA Marine in Marietta, GA.
MA was a dedicated member of the Wildcat Fire Department, which was part of the Rabun County EMT Services, as well as a member of the Swift Water Rescue Team.
For the past decade, he has owned and operated FTS Properties, building homes all over northern Georgia.
MA was a lover of life, music and the beach. It could be found on most vacations somewhere in the sun and scuba diving. He was very interested in history, the army and trains. Always curious, he was always learning something new.
A Celebration of the Life of MA was held on Saturday, November 20 at the Wildcat Fire Hall on Lake Burton.
