Perth flat engulfed in flames as emergency crews rushed to set fire

A FIRE broke out in a building in Perth tonight as emergency crews rushed to the scene.

The fire engulfed a property on Rannoch Road and firefighters and police are currently on the scene.

A bystander told the Scottish Sun they heard a ‘big bang’ before the fire broke out.

Footage from hell shows a top floor apartment on fire as firefighters try to tackle the flames.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the blaze at 10.40pm.

Three devices and one high device were sent to the residential street.

It is not yet known if anyone was injured.

Police are on site to manage traffic on the street.

Earlier, a passenger plane bound for the United States was forced to make an emergency landing.

The United Airlines plane took off from Edinburgh Airport and was heading to Newark, New Jersey.

But the plane had to land at Shannon Airport in Ireland due to an in-flight alert.

It is understood the hijacking was the result of problems with the plane’s pressurization.

The flight landed safely at 12:05 p.m.

A United Airlines spokesperson said“Our team at Shannon Airport is providing assistance to customers on United Flight 37 (Edinburgh-New York/Newark) who have diverted to Shannon Airport to resolve a technical issue.
