A parking lot in downtown Coalville was cordoned off by police today after a man died.
Emergency services were called to the scene behind the town’s Belvoir Shopping Center near High Street shortly after 1 p.m.
Eyewitnesses reported that an area had been “taped up”, with police cars and a fire crew spotted.

The Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said he was called at 1:29 pm to “assist the police at the scene”.
Police later confirmed that the incident was not suspicious and that it involved a man in his 60s who fell ill in his car in a parking lot on Hotel Street.

A spokeswoman said the man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is not treated as a suspect and the identification of the deceased is the responsibility of HM Coroner,” she added.
