Scott Brown is planning to make a raid on the Scottish market after taking the reins of Fleetwood Town.
The Celtic legend landed his first managerial job at the English League One club yesterday and is already preparing for next season.
Former Hibs teammate and Dunfermline No.2 Steven Whittaker is expected to head south as Brown’s assistant manager.
And it is expected that a number of other SPFL names could follow him on the road as Brown aims to put his mark on the team.
He told Sky Sports News: “There are a few players who are out of contract. A few players on loan will also return.
“So there will be players coming in and going out. It’s an integral part of any club football, it’s going to happen.
“Obviously I want to put my own stamp on things and also play the way I want to play.
“Pre-season is going to be huge for us. We’re going so the guys can have some sun and not wind here!”
Having spent his entire career in Scotland, Brown admits he has some homework to do in the English leagues.
The former Aberdeen player/coach said: “We have a lot of study to do. We have a great scouting team here who sign a lot of players.
“The job for me and my assistant is to sit down and start studying and finding out what positions we need.
“As I said, there are a lot of players who are out of contract and we are quite weak on the left side now with the players leaving. First and foremost, we will study them.
“I’m looking forward to the challenge. I know the Scottish market very well. There are also a lot of Scottish players out of contract. Hopefully we can maybe force one of those deals very soon. “
