Six people rushed to hospital after two car crashes on major Scottish road

Six people have been rushed to hospital after a two-car crash on a major Scottish road.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on the A85, near Dunollie Road, Oban at around 6.15pm on Tuesday May 3.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) sent two devices to the scene, near Pennyfuir Farm.

It is understood the Scottish Ambulance Service was also present and transported six people to hospital for treatment.

The road remains closed in both directions to allow a resumption from 8.44pm, according to Traffic Scotland.

A spokesperson for SFRS said: “We were called to an RTC in Dunollie Road, Oban at 6.18pm today and dispatched two devices.

“Crews have now left the scene.”

Oban Rds (restrained firefighters) tweeted: “Crew phoned at 6.19pm with full time colleagues from Oban Fire Station to a multi-vehicle RTC on the A85 near Pennyflee Farm.

“Crews helped our colleagues from Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service.”

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Officers were called to report a two-car crash on the A85 near Dunollie Road, Oban at around 6.15pm on Tuesday 3rd May 2022.

“Six people were taken to hospital for treatment.

“The road remains closed.”
