A body was found in the Threipmuir Reservoir in search of a missing man on Wednesday July 14.
A crowd of emergency teams rushed to the local beauty site in the Pentlands after calls were made for concerns about a person in the water.
Police and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service closed the area for four days, and this evening (July 17) police confirmed locating a body.
The body was recovered around 5:35 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, from Thriepmuir Reservoir and formal identification has yet to take place.
Police said there were no suspicious circumstances and the man’s family had been notified.
In a statement, they said: âOfficers in Edinburgh can confirm that a body was found in the Thriepmuir reservoir following a salvage operation after a man was seen in difficulty in the water around 5.35 p.m. on Wednesday July 14.
âFormal identification has not yet taken place, but the family of the man, who requested confidentiality, have been made aware.
âThere are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Tax Prosecutor. The Thriepmuir reservoir parking lot and the path along the reservoir are now reopened to the public.
