Proposed plans for the redevelopment of the Troon station building following a fire that destroyed it in July last year are to be unveiled to the public.
Network Rail invites the local community and all interested parties to a community event at Walker Hall in Troon between 4.00pm and 7.00pm on Wednesday 24 August to view and discuss the initial concept plans.
Network Rail worked with its architects and a number of stakeholders to produce three concepts to showcase.
Each of the initial concepts takes into consideration the look and feel of the remaining historic platform building while allowing for modern interpretations.
The community engagement event will allow residents to provide feedback on the draft plans and ask any questions they may have about the planned works.
Jo Noble, Network Rail’s sponsor for the station redevelopment, said: “This is the first time we have had the opportunity to engage with the community of Troon and present initial proposals for the redevelopment of the station building. quayside station destroyed by fire last year. .
“We hope people will come and see the initial proposals and give their feedback and ask any questions they may have about the station building restoration work.
“We look forward to meeting everyone at the Community Drop-in on August 24.”
